What precautions are you taking during the COVID 19 pandemic?

Do I need to see my doctor before starting physical therapy?
Effective January 2014, Californians can now directly access physical therapy. This enables patients to see a physical therapist FIRST, without a physician referral, for the first 12 sessions or 45 days.
We will recommend you see a physician at times as needed, and can provide recommendations based on your clinical presentation.
Do I need to have an injury to see a PT or AT?
No!
Physical therapists and athletic trainers excel at identifying movement dysfunctions and imbalances that may be causing a current injury or can lead to future injury. In addition to injury rehabilitation, trained therapists provide a combination of hands-on manual therapy techniques and corrective exercises designed to optimize your body and enhance performance.
Am I able to see both providers?
Yes- we are one team! Our goal is to always be able to provide you care, as soon as you need it. Depending on the acuteness of your injury, we may recommend you see a different provider based on availability to help you start recovering now!
I think my injury could benefit from manual therapy. How does this fit into my rehab and do I have to select one type?
Healthy joint motion and soft tissue mobility is essential for optimal movement. Often, after an injury, scar tissue and adhesions can develop in and around muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves, impacting your biomechanics. When manual therapy is used in tandem with customized exercise protocols, it can alleviate aches and pains quickly by realigning impacted tissue.
Our providers utilize a myriad of treatment approaches including joint mobilizations and soft tissue massage paired with therapeutic exercise progressions that are specific to your body's needs. The team is trained in advanced manual therapy, including Active Release Technique, Graston Technique, Myofascial Decompression Technique, and Mulligan Concept therapy. Your provider will design a treatment protocol consisting of manual therapy and exercise each session based on your clinical presentation.

Am I entitled to a Good Faith Estimate?
Starting in 2022, you have the right to receive a “good faith estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the No Surprises Act, health care providers will provide patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance (self-pay) an estimate of the total expected cost of any non-emergency care or patient services.

Do you accept my insurance?
We are an out-of-network provider with all insurance companies. This means we do not directly accept insurance. However, your insurance plan may reimburse you for a portion of your physical therapy services if you have a PPO. We’ll give you all the information you need to get reimbursed.
Because each insurance policy is unique, we recommend calling the number on the back of your insurance card to learn more about your plan. Ask them “What are my out-of-network physical therapy benefits?” Pay attention to what percentage of out-of-network coverage you are eligible for, what your out-of-network deductible is, and what you’ve paid towards your deductible so far this year.
The traditional insurance model does not allow us to treat the way we feel is best for you or spend the time with you that you deserve. Our approach allows us to spend more quality 1-on-1 time with patients and will help you feel better, faster. While most PT clinics see you 3x a week with many other patients at the same time, we usually see you 1x a week. You tend to need less visits, and in the long run may end up spending less with us than a traditional PT practice when you consider your deductible, co-pay, and extra visits needed.

How do I submit claims to my insurance?
Each insurance platform differs slightly. For most, log on to your insurance platform and search for “out of network claims.” You will need to complete an identification form to submit with your Physical TheraPT itemized receipt. You can typically submit this online, or by postal mail.
